The fire happened in a field on County Road H and County Road 4 around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

DELTA, Ohio — Multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies responded to a large fire in a rural area of Fulton County between Swanton and Delta on Sunday evening.

The Delta Community Fire Department said a 30 acre soybean field caught on fire around 4:50 p.m. as farmers were using a combine to harvest in the field.

A large plume of smoke was visible from as far away as Maumee and on the Maumee River but firefighters were quickly able to get it under control.

The fire was under control by 5:30 p.m.

No structures were damaged as a result of the fire.

Seven different departments, including over 30 firefighters, responded to the scene.
