TOLEDO, Ohio — Cherry Street is temporarily closed early Thursday morning due to a vehicle fire.
The fire happened on the 3300 block of Cherry near Condley in north Toledo around 4 a.m.
Police and fire officials arrived to the scene to find an SUV fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also burned an overhead wire, leaving a wire laying in the roadway.
The fire destroyed the vehicle, which has been towed from the scene.
That portion of Cherry Street is blocked off until Toledo Edison can clear the wire from the road.
The street is expected to be closed for another 45 minutes.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
