Join us in welcoming Kalie Marantette as our newest WTOL 11 evening anchor

Kalie Marantette first joined the WTOL 11 team in 2022.

TOLEDO, Ohio — WTOL 11 is excited to announce the newest addition to our evening team is anchor Kalie Marantette!

Marantette has been a reporter with WTOL 11 for more than 2 years. This follows a 3-year stint in Lansing, Michigan as a reporter and anchor.

During her time at WTOL 11, Marantette has dug for answers and held the powerful accountable as a member of the 11 Investigates team. Her work in our Cedar Point investigation led to changes in how the amusement park reports and investigates crimes. It also helped WTOL 11 earn a national Murrow Award for investigative journalism.

"Kalie is an extremely hard worker and is a champion of truth," Assistant News Director Andrew Asmus said. "Kalie cares about finding the truth, and standing up for those who cannot."

Outside of work, Marantette is involved in Habitat for Humanity, enjoys playing volleyball and exploring new parks.

A native of White Lake, Michigan, Marantette went to Oakland Community College on a volleyball scholarship. In the spring of 2016, she transferred to the University of Kentucky where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

In 2020, while working at WLNS-TV in Lansing, Marantette led coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests and the plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, then won an MAC for "Best News Reporter."

Marantette will partner with Jeff Smith to anchor WTOL 11 News at 5, WTOL 11 News at 6, and WTOL 11 News at 11.

"We're excited for the evening team to continue to bring our viewers the important information they need to know throughout the day and before going to sleep at night," Asmus said. "Kalie will also continue her important work on the 11 Investigates team."

If you are wondering about other familiar faces at WTOL, Melissa Andrews and Amanda Fay continue to be important members of the WTOL 11 team as they make shifts. 

You can catch Melissa weekdays at Noon and 5:30 p.m., as well as follow her work with the 11 Investigates team.  

You can catch Amanda weekdays at 9 a.m. on Good Day, as well as Mondays and Tuesdays at 4 p.m.
