TOLEDO, Ohio —
Megan is a multi-skilled journalist who joined WTOL 11 in January, 2024.
She was born in Chicago but calls Florida home. Growing up in Venice, Fla, she was fortunate to live close to the beach, several state parks and lots of museums.
Megan is a proud double Gator! She graduated from the University of Florida in 2022 with a journalism degree and a history minor. In the fall of 2023, she finished her Masters of Arts in mass communications.
During her time at UF, she was an anchor and reporter for WUFT News. She covered a variety of beats, but her most cherished stories involve the environment. Looking at how Hurricane Ian impacted the agriculture industry, hanging out at a retirement home for horses and a recording a podcast about Florida's springs are just a few of her favorite projects.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading and going to museums. She also collects vinyl records! Megan has also been involved with Relay for Life since she was young and served in leadership positions for UF's team.
She is excited to be in Toledo and become involved in the community. If you have a story idea, feel free to reach her at mhartnett@wtol.com.
