TOLEDO, Ohio — Silver Barker is a multi-skilled journalist who joined WTOL 11 in May 2024.
She was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a suburban area only a few minutes away from downtown Cleveland.
After graduating from Shaker Heights High School in 2020, she went on to pursue a journalism degree at Ohio University. During her time as an OU bobcat, Silver joined WOUB Public Media, a PBS station and news source for people in southeast Ohio. She was a reporter and anchor for their daily evening broadcast called Newswatch.
Silver is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
Outside of work, Silver enjoys spending time with her family, watching reality television and shopping. She has a passion for fashion, food and animals.
