TOLEDO, Ohio — WTOL 11 is honored to be trusted to tell your stories every day as Toledo's News Leader and we're pleased to announce the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors organization awarded the station with its top award of General Excellence as well as 10 other first-place awards.
In addition to General Excellence as a station, the following first-place awards were announced Wednesday:

- Best Reporter: Brian Dugger
- Best Sports Feature: Jordan Strack and Eric Rerucha, "Back in the Huddle"
- Best Use of Photography: Eric Rerucha, "Murder on Brown Road"
- Best Documentary or Series: Brian Dugger and Eric Rerucha, "Cook Brothers: Reign of Terror"
- Best Enterprise Reporting: Jenson Strock, "You're Actually Doing Harm': How Misinformation Can Cause Problems for Victims of Human Trafficking"
