Cedar Point hiring Screamsters for HalloWeekends, pay up to $19.25 per hour: How to apply

Cedar Point kicks off their 2024 HalloWeekends season on Sept. 12, which runs every Thursday through Sunday until Oct. 27.

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Although we’re still sweating through the summer, the Halloween season is right around the corner -- and Cedar Point is now hiring Screamsters whose job is to create the scares for the park's 2024 HalloWeekends.

The job listing posted by Cedar Point shows the pay is up to $19.25 an hour.

Positions are open for those ages 16 and older. You can apply online HERE.

“As a Screamster, you’ll entertain and scare our guests as a costumed character in one of our haunted attractions,” according to the listing.

What’s all involved? Here’s what Cedar Point says about joining the Screamster team:

  • Wear theatrical makeup, prosthetics and a costume as a costumed character
  • Entertain guests as a costumed character through hand/body movements and vocalization
  • Rehearses and performs the role of monster as originally scripted and/or conceived
  • Interacts in a frightening way to entertain guests by portraying a defined character

Cedar Point has not yet revealed details on this year’s haunted attractions or live entertainment, but one change that was confirmed earlier this year is that Midnight Syndicate would not be returning.
