TOLEDO, Ohio — April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and you can show your support and raise awareness by wearing blue on Wednesday, April 14.
You’re encouraged to wear blue to work, school or anywhere you may be going to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect.
There were fears reports of child abuse would go down during the pandemic, but numbers held steady.
In 2020, 2,000 children were confirmed to be victims of abuse or neglect.
There will also be a child memorial on April 29 to honor 20 children who died from abuse, neglect or street violence over the past two years in Lucas County.
If you would like to do more to help, Lucas County Children Services is always looking for foster parents. And, you can take the training completely online.
