TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: The above video originally aired Thursday, Nov. 2.
United Auto Workers members who work at Mobis North America have voted to authorize a strike against the company, according to local labor leaders.
Workers at the plant, which supplies completed chassis modules to Jeep's Toledo Assembly Complex, voted overwhelmingly -- 99.7% - in favor of the strike authorization, according to UAW Local 12 Mobis Chairman Jeremy Navarre.
There are 400 union autoworkers at the plant in north Toledo. They are represented by the same UAW local unit as workers at the Jeep plant.
The union's contract with Mobis expires at 11:59 p.m., Nov. 14.
On Thursday Navarre said the recent UAW strikes against Stellantis, Ford and General Motors that have yielded tentative agreements inspired workers at Mobis.
"It livened up our membership," Navarre said. "It gave them the drive to stand on their demands."
Earlier this week Navarre declined to speak about the specifics of contract negotiations or what workers want in a new deal.
