PERRYSBURG, Ohio — 100 more workers will be laid off at the Toledo Machining Plant in Perrysburg Township, Stellantis announced on Thursday.
The new round of layoffs will go into effect on Oct. 23, bringing the total number of employees laid off to 170. The company said the layoffs are a result of the United Auto Workers strike at the Toledo Assembly Complex.
The facility supplies parts for the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wrangle 4xe and the Jeep Gladiator. Stellantis said that the facility has reached the maximum inventory level.
They also said in the announcement on their website that, "Across its facilities in three states, the Company now has 1,520 employees on temporary layoff. Stellantis continues to closely monitor the impact of the UAW strike action on our manufacturing operations."
