Leadership with the United Auto Workers laid out the details of the tentative agreement with General Motors on Saturday in a live stream.

UAW President Shawn Fain, joined by Vice President Mike Booth, called the deal with GM a record-breaking one and said that they, "won big."

“Through the power of our picket lines and the credible threat of even more strikes to come, we were able to wrench back so much of what these companies have stolen from us over the past few decades,” said Fain.

UAW and GM came to a tentative agreement on Oct. 30 and was the final agreement made out of the Big 3.

The deal includes a 25% wage increase over the life of the contract, including a general wage increase of 11% upon ratification of the deal.

The tentative agreement also brings an end to wage tiers, something Fain and UAW leadership were advocating for through the bargaining process.

“Our strike and this contract are correcting for decades of these companies getting rich off of our labor,” said Fain.

The deal also reinstates Cost-of-Living Allowances (COLA) and a three-year wage progression.

“Together, we’re going to fight to change the economy into one that works for the working class,” said Fain. “This contract is our union’s first step in that direction and I’m proud to bring it to the membership for a vote.”
