TOLEDO, Ohio — Cierra Keller has three businesses, Glitz and Glam Boutique, a beverage delivery business, and a transportation business. She said she has always dreamed of becoming a successful entrepreneur who's also helping her community.
Her transportation service, Helping Hands Transportation, is doing just that.
Last year, Au'Bree Robinson was in a bind. She needed help getting her daughter A'Lani to one location and herself another.
"I didn't have transportation at the time and I needed to get back and forth to work and get my daughter back and forth to daycare," Robinson said.
She went on Facebook in search of help and discovered she wasn't alone in her issue. Keller said she saw other posts too while scrolling through different Facebook groups and wanted to help.
"I seen a young lady on Facebook and she made a post saying how she's going to have to quit her job. Due to her lack of transportation, and it was like 10 other females. They're like oh I keep having to call off from work. I keep missing work, due to nobody being able to drop my kids off, pick my kids up from work," Keller explained.
Realizing that this could be a way to start her business ventures, Keller created Helping Hands Transportation in October 2023. The services was aimed at giving single moms and their kids rides wherever they needed to go, 24/7. If they needed a ride and made the call, she was there.
"I'm always the helping hand when it comes to family, friends. I'm always there. I'm a person that anybody can count on. Helping Hands Transportation was just a term that I use because I'm always open to help people," Keller said.
Robinson has been a Helping Hands client for several months and has since become a big fan. She hopes more people take advantage of Keller's service.
"She's very reliable. Always on time," Robinson said. "I would be interested in helping her. You know, she helped me and I wouldn't have a problem with that. Absolutely, we have grown a friendship outside of the transportation business, as well."
Since the business has been going so well, Keller said she's opened it up to help more people. Whether it's single moms, dads, whole families, or adults who need help getting around to places, Keller is there!
