TOLEDO, Ohio — Have you ever tried to recreate your favorite Taco Bell menu item at home? Maybe copied a recipe hack you spotted on social media? But in the end your Crunchwrap or quesadilla still wasn't the same as at the restaurant?
Now the fast food chain has a new offering that should make it easier for you to get that authentic Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme or Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla in your own kitchen.
The company has introduced Taco Bell at Home Crunchwrap Supreme and Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla Cravings Kits, both of which are available at Walmart stores and from Walmart online.
The kits were introduced this week and feature proprietary Taco Bell restaurant ingredients that the company says are essential to making these favorite menu items at home.
Each kit comes with ingredients such as sauces, seasonings, tortillas or tostada shells. Consumers must add their own ground beef, chicken or other protein. Each kit can serve four people.
For years, Taco Bell fans have attempted to recreate their favorite menu items at home, often taking to social media to show off their creations. But some say the recipe hacks never quite deliver exactly the same experience.
The Crunchwrap Supreme -- which Taco Bell officials have called "the most iconic menu item in Taco Bell’s history" -- is often imitated. With the new Cravings Kits fans can get closer the real thing.
The kits are the latest offerings from Kraft Heinz’s Taco Bell at Home line, which has been created to allow customers to make Taco Bell favorites themselves with authentic ingredients.
“A partnership founded on a mutual obsession with their consumers, Kraft Heinz and Taco Bell created the Taco Bell at Home line to bring signature and crave worthy Taco Bell offerings and flavors straight to the grocery aisle and allow fans to make Taco Bell their way,” Danielle Coopersmith, Associate Director of Marketing for Taco Bell at Home, said in a news release. “Grounded in this core mission, our innovation strategy focuses on creating new products inspired by beloved Taco Bell classics that encourage fans to customize their at-home creations and take them to new heights.”
