LORAIN, Ohio — The Lorain County Dog Kennel shared an incredible story on their Facebook page this weekend involving a long-lost dog reuniting with her family after six years.
According to the post, the dog's microchip was checked when she came into the kennel recently. The microchip returned the name of someone who currently lives in Florida.
When the kennel contacted the person, they said that they had lost the dog, named Lucy Marie, while they lived in Lorain six years ago. The kennel says the owner consistently updated the info on the microchip in hopes that one day Lucy Marie would be returned.
The owner's sister picked up Lucy Marie from the kennel (pictured below) and will travel to reunite her with her family.
The Lorain County Dog Kennel urges pet owners to microchip their pets and keep information on the microchip updated.
