TOLEDO, Ohio — Cherry Street Mission Ministries in Toledo will be serving hundreds of Thanksgiving meals Thursday for individuals experiencing poverty.
The organization said they plan to serve over 700 meals from noon to 1 p.m. at the Life Revitalization Center, located at 1501 Monroe Street. The organization said the event will be a sitdown, restaurant-style lunch catered by Real Seafood Company.
"The Toledo region continues to experience significant need, driven by limited access to resources, rising food and housing costs and increased poverty rates in Lucas County. For many, a warm Thanksgiving meal is the first step toward hope, connection and a path to stability," Cherry Street Mission said.
The community is also invited to participate in the Dave's Turkey Chase, a run or walk in downtown Toledo beginning at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the event will help Cherry Street Mission assist those in need.
You can also drop off food and supplies at the organization's Donation Warehouse, located on the 16th Street side of 1501 Monroe Street, daily from 9 a.m. to noon, or at the north entrance of the Life Revitalization Center until 6:30 p.m.
