FINDLAY, Ohio — The city of Findlay is requesting help from citizens to find a centerpiece for the Christmas display in Dorney Plaza.

In a press release from the mayor's office sent Monday, the city placed a request for a resident to donate a suitable tree to be displayed during the Christmas season.

The request specified a preference for a short needle spruce tree between 25 to 35 feet tall that is easily accessible, with no obstructions like overhead lines. No backyard trees will be accepted unless "totally accessible" for large equipment.

The city of Findlay will handle removal of the tree, grind the stump, clean the area and place seed, according to Mayor Christina Muryn's office. The city also offered to plant a new tree in the spring, if desired by the owner of the property.

The donor will be recognized with a plaque in front of the tree in Dorney Plaza.

If you are interested in donating a tree, you are asked to contact Kathy Launder in the mayor's office at 419-424-7137 or by email at klaunder@findlayohio.gov.
