TOLEDO, Ohio — Say your goodbyes to Campus Pollyeyes in Toledo.
The restaurant — famous for bringing its breadsticks to hungry Bowling Green residents and college students and then expanding throughout Ohio — was open for the final time on Sunday.
"We want to thank everyone for their continued love, support, and patronage over the last 4 years," Campus Polleyes Toledo said in a social media post. "We have made some amazing memories and accomplishments since we first opened and could not be more thrilled to have shared it all with you."
WTOL 11 visited the Toledo location on its last day and spoke with owner Bobby Nicholson.
Nicholson, who also owns other Campus Pollyeyes locations says business at the restaurant was sustainable, but he chose to close the location in order to spend more time with his family.
"UT's been great. The regulars: much appreciated, very strong. My staff: very appreciated. I mean, I can't say thank you enough to the staff and all of the great people I've met over the last four years here," said Nicholson.
The two-story Toledo location on the corner of Dorr Street and Secor Road near the University of Toledo campus opened in the summer of 2020.
The Campus Pollyeyes in Bowling Green has been open for more than 50 years. There is also a location in Findlay.
Campus Pollyeyes opened a restaurant in Cleveland in March of 2023.
