Ever thought about becoming a mail person? USPS hiring City Carrier Assistant positions

The post office will be holding a workshop on Tuesday at the main post office downtown to answer questions for prospective applicants.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Looking for a new career?

The United States Postal Service is looking to fill immediate openings for City Carrier Assistants in Toledo.

On Tuesday, USPS will be hosting a job application workshop at 435 South St. Clair St. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Post office personnel will be on hand to answer questions about the position at the workshop.

The starting salary for City Carrier Assistants is $18.92 per hour. An acceptable driving record is required as well as availability to work on weekends and holidays.

According to the job posting listed on USPS.com the the position is responsible for delivering mail by vehicle or on foot as well as preparing mail for delivery among other duties.

In addition, there is an exam requirement for interested applicants.

According to USPS, they are focusing on building a more stable and empowered workforce and have recently implemented a 10-year-plan, Delivering for America, with those goals in mind.
