TOLEDO, Ohio — If you're looking for work, the United States Postal Service is ready to deliver some help.
The Toledo Post Office is holding a job application workshop Wednesday to fill openings for mail carrier assistant positions. Starting salary is $19.33 an hour and carriers may be eligible for benefits.
Interested applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays and have an acceptable driving record.
Job duties will include sorting, lifting and pushing moderate to heavy loads of mail and packages; delivery, pick up or collection from customers; and work indoors and outdoors in all weather, according to a job description from the USPS.
The USPS says it's an ideal job for anyone who enjoys being active outdoors and occasional customer service interactions with the community.
The job workshop will take place April 12, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Toledo Post Office, located at 435 South St. Clair St. in downtown Toledo. USPS human resources personnel will be on-site to assist job seekers.
Applications are accepted online only at the USPS careers website.
