TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo Police say the person driving a motorcycle involved in an accident on Alexis Road Wednesday has died.

Randy Randolph, Jr., 22, was operating a Suzuki motorcycle, traveling westbound on Alexis Road, when he struck the rear of Kenneth Smerklo's van. Smerklo, 53, was in the process of turning left onto the northbound private drive of a Lowe's store, from the eastbound lane of Alexis.

According to witness statements given to TPD, Randolph was not wearing a helmet and was operating his motorcycle in a reckless manner prior to the accident. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles shows he did not have a motorcycle endorsement.
