TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Two new restaurants are moving into downtown Toledo, both on Monroe Street.
M'Osteria, an Italian restaurant, and Black Cloister Brewing Company are setting up shop next to The Blarney and across from Table 44, bringing excitement to the downtown area.
“It seemed like Toledo was kind of down for awhile and I'm excited to see it make a comeback,” said resident Thomas Champion.
“I think it's great for the downtown area,” added Seth Shaffer at The Blarney. “It will bring in more people that will help us out, help them out, and we can only hope for good things.”
The restaurant and brewery will bring new life, within walking distance of the Walleye and Mud Hens stadiums.
“You've got two great sports teams and people need a place to eat and a place to enjoy themselves and that's what will be provided here,” Shaffer said.
Champion says with ProMedica moving its headquarters downtown, dozens of Huntington employees and now two new eateries, a new, younger energy will be moving in, as well.
“Younger people spend money,” he said. “We need a better environment for them and this just helps the whole city.”
M'Osteria is slated to open by the end of February. There is no word yet on when the Black Cloister will open its doors.
