TIFFIN, OH (Toledo News Now) - Visitation services for four of the six people killed in a mobile home fire in Tiffin were held on Wednesday at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home on North Washington Street in Tiffin.
All bundled into one casket at their mother's request was 6-year-old Tiara Angel, 5-year-old Stormie Huey, and 3-year-old Sunshine Huey. Their sister, 4-year-old Trinitie Huey, was in a separate closed casket during the visitation.
One of the people hurting the most in the tragedy-- Rickie Huey, father of Stormie, Trinitie and Sunshine.
"They loved to play outside. I bought them a ball and it's still in the house. Every time I look at that ball I think of them, and I have to walk away from it," said Huey.
A devastating mobile home fire in Tiffin claimed the lives of all three of Huey's daughters, in addition to their older sister, 6-year-old Tiara Angel, 2-year-old brother Domonic Fresch, and Domonic's father, 25-year-old Timothy Fresch.
Rickie says everyday since Sunday's tragedy, he looks back on that day with regret.
" I was going to call and get them, but I came down sick, so I decided not to come and get them," said Huey. "Sunday I got that phone call...I make it to the hospital, and all my kids are dead."
Huey's fiance, Mary McBeth, says Huey was an amazing father, who had his girls every other weekend.
She says some of her fondest memories are doing the girls' hair, taking them shopping and to church, and playing games around the house.
" I liked chasing them around. I was like a big kid with them," said McBeth.
She added, people often forget in times like this, that fathers cry too.
"Rickie was a really good dad...It's hard. We miss our babies, those were our babies too, and nobody recognizes that," said McBeth.
McBeth and Huey are relying on each other to make it through the difficult time. She says Huey, who is looking for work in Findlay, has had to put his search on hold as he works to pull himself together and stay strong.
The funerals for all six fire victims are scheduled for Thursday. Community members are raising money to help cover funeral costs.
