Autopsy reveals Heather Bogle's cause of death; homicide investigation continues

Sandusky County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the body of missing Fremont woman Heather Bogle has been found.

SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) - A missing person investigation in Fremont has now turned into a homicide investigation after police found the body of 28-year-old Heather Bogle in the trunk of her car.

Before her death, Bogle had been last seen leaving work at Whirlpool in Clyde around 6:15 a.m. Thursday. She was then reported missing when she didn't pick up her 5-year-old daughter from school.

Authorities found Bogle's body Friday night in the parking lot of the Sumerton Apartment complex in Clyde, Ohio.

They say her autopsy shows she died from two gun shot wounds and blunt force trauma to her body.

Residents of the apartment complex say they are stunned by what happened.

"I think it's terrible that somebody would do something like that to somebody in a small town that we're trying to keep safe," said resident Donna Misner.

Deputy Chief Bruce Hirt of the Sandusky County Sheriff's Department says there are no prime suspects in the case.

"Investigators are following up all the leads. We've got several leads coming in, telephone tops and are investigating all the leads at this point," said Chief Hirt.

Anyone with information about the death of Heather Bogle is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department at 419-332-2613.

In support of Bogle's family a GoFundMe has been made in her name. So far more than $3,500 has been raised.
