SYLVANIA, OH (WTOL) - Downtown Sylvania welcomed another player in the craft brew arena on Memorial Day.
Inside The Five Brewing Co. had its grand opening Monday morning at 11 a.m.
Patrons can choose from 15 different craft beers, three guest taps and a full bar, as well as a tasty menu.
Part-owner Brandon Fields, a former punter with the Miami Dolphins, said the idea for the brewery all started with his wife.
"For my birthday, she got me a basic home-brewing kit out of a few buckets and a couple hoses, and from there it just really took off. I'm really detail-oriented, so I love making my own recipes. My kind of motto or goal that I've kind of developed over the years is that there's the right craft beer for everybody," said Fields.
Fields is the head brewer and CEO, and will work closely again with Chris Morris, his former Michigan State teammate and NFL player and now CFO.
The term "inside the five" refers to the ideal spot for a punter to place the ball to pin back the opposing team. The beers names reflect both football terms and a nod to MSU and Greek mythology.
The brewery, located at 5703 Main St., is open until 11 p.m.
