TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - In June, the City of Toledo launched its online "Water Quality Dashboard." The dashboard, which is live on the city's website, provides a clear, graphical representation of the most recent water tests.

The dashboard features a meter with five levels:

Clear – Microcystin has not been detected in lake or tap water

Watch – Microcystin has been detected in lake water, but not tap water

Caution – Microcystin has been detected in tap water, but test results do not indicate the need to issue an advisory. Additional testing and sampling are underway and water treatment has been accelerated.

Pre-school Advisory – Children 5 years of age or younger should not drink the tap water. Tap water tests show levels of microcystin between 0.3 parts per billion and 1.6 parts per billion.

Do Not Drink – Do not drink tap water. Tests show tap water contains more than 1.6 parts per billion of microcystin.

Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson says it's an easy-to-read, important tool for all residents.

"This is all important for folks to get the accurate and correct information. As opposed to the rumors and misinformation sometimes folks get because they maybe hear only part of information and not all of it. So this is one way that an individual can clearly go to the source to get the information they need," she said.

The city will still be providing additional information and updates with regards to the water as warranted. In the meantime, stay tuned to the dashboard for current, up-to-date water quality status.
