Police: 2 in critical condition following shootout on I-475 in Toledo

An 18-year-old and a 26-year-old arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning and were both listed in critical condition, police said.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after two people were shot in an alleged shootout on I-475 in Toledo over the weekend.

Police said crews responded Saturday to I-475 eastbound near Corey Road around 3 a.m. after receiving multiple calls of vehicles shooting at each other.

According to police, witnesses said that two people in one of the vehicles were shot and placed into another car. TPD said a short time later, two victims arrived at the hospital.

An 18-year-old and a 26-year-old had gunshot wounds and were listed in critical condition. 

Police said a scene was located on I-475 eastbound with multiple shell casings in the road and an abandoned vehicle. The highway was shut down near Corey Road for an extended period as police investigated.
