3 remaining suspects convicted in Toledo teens kidnapping, murder case

Gabriel Garcia, Don Eames and Carissa Eames' convictions come one week after two others convicted in the case were sentenced to life in prison for aggravated murder.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The three remaining suspects charged in the 2022 kidnapping and murder of two Toledo teens were convicted Monday, according to court records.

The convictions of Gabriel Garcia, Don Eames and Carissa Eames come one week after Brent Kohlhoffer and Charles Walker were sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole on aggravated murder, murder and kidnapping charges in the deaths of Ke’Marion Wilder, 16, and Kyshawn Pittman, 15.

Gabriel Garcia withdrew a not-guilty plea to murder and kidnapping and pleaded guilty to two counts of abduction. He is due in court on June 20 for sentencing.

Don Eames also withdrew a previous plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and kidnapping. He also pleaded guilty to one count each of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Carissa Eames too withdrew a not-guilty plea and pleaded guilty to one count each of complicity in the commission of kidnapping and complicity in the commission of felonious assault. She also pleaded guilty to an additional count each of complicity in the commission of kidnapping and complicity in the commission of felonious assault.

Both Don and Carissa Eames are due back in court on June 25 for sentencing.

Corbin Gingrich on May 1 pleaded guilty under seal to unknown charges. He was originally charged with two counts of murder, two counts of kidnapping and obstructing justice.

A 14-year-old and a 17-year-old were sentenced last summer to one year and six months, respectively, in an Ohio Department of Youth Services facility.

Diamond Rivera was sentenced last summer to three years of community control and 270 days in prison. A judge found her guilty of obstructing justice.

Crystal Yingling LaForge was found guilty of the same charge as Rivera and sentenced to 270 days at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and 36 months of community control.
