TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police responded to Bowsher High School Saturday morning at approximately 11:10 a.m. after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip that two men had been seen in the parking lot with weapons.

According to a police report, the caller claimed the two suspects were loading weapons into bags from a white Dodge Journey before entering the school. Toledo police and deputies from the Lucas County Sheriff's Office responded to the school, which was placed on lockdown.

Toledo Public Schools officials reviewed security footage, allowing police to locate the owner of the vehicle, who was present at the school and cooperated with officers. Police searched the vehicle and did not locate any weapons. The owner stated she was in the midst of a divorce and suggested her soon-to-be ex placed a hoax call.

Law enforcement conducted a search of the school and did not locate any suspicious unattended bags or any weapons. Detectives continued to speak to the owner of the vehicle regarding the incident.

Bowsher High School was taken off lockdown and activities were allowed to resume.
