TOLEDO, Ohio — Officers from the Toledo Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert at a home in the 1000 block of Woodland Avenue in central Toledo shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.
After arriving on scene, officers stated they discovered that a felonious assault had occurred within the home.
Involved parties were located and a suspect was arrested. Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Shawn Wimpey.
According to court documents Whimpey is charged with felonious assault with a weapon, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
Police did not specify on the condition of the victim or their identity.
