WATERVILLE, Ohio — The former CEO of Waterville-based charity Impact with Hope has been jailed on accusations of violating conditions of her bond.
Linda Greene was indicted in February 2021 on five felony counts accusing her of a fraud scheme and stealing from the charity between January 2011 and November 2018. She was also ordered to not have any contact with Impact with Hope.
According to prosecutors, Greene has recently reached out multiple times and solicited donations on the charity's behalf.
She was previously on an own recognizance bond but is now being held on a $75,000 bond.
Greene's trial is scheduled for May 15.
An indictment filed in Wood County Commons Pleas Court on Dec. 20, 2018, said Greene took $2,913.02 in August of 2017. She was charged with a fifth-degree felony of theft.
The theft charge alleges Greene deprived the organization of more than $150,000 in monies, services, reimbursements, and personal care.
Greene was the public face of Impact With Hope for years. If convicted on all charges, Greene faces a maximum sentence of 17 to 21 years in prison.
In February 2019, the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office dropped two felony charges made against Greene, saying the charges were dropped because she was a person of interest in an expanded investigation.
According to the prosecutor’s office at the time, the expanded investigation included the execution of search warrants of two Impact with Hope locations.
