TOLEDO, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a central Toledo death as a homicide, according to a press release from Toledo police issued Thursday.
Police said they responded to the 400 block of Martin Lane at 3:43 p.m. Monday after a family member found 60-year-old Michelle Borer deceased. In the report, police said the circumstances surrounding the death dictated an investigation and called detectives and the Lucas County Coroner to the scene.
According to the press release, the Lucas County Coroner's Office ruled Borer's death a homicide on Tuesday. The coroner's office said the victim's cause of death was sharp force neck injuries with strangulation.
Police did not name any possible suspects or manner of death in the homicide, but encouraged anyone with information to call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. You can remain anonymous.
Borer's death brings the total number of homicides in Toledo in 2023 to 43.
