Suspect arrested, charged with vehicular homicide in fatal I-475 crash

Takharius Byrd was arrested Tuesday and faces charges related to a fatal crash in March.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested a suspect Tuesday accused of involvement in a crash that killed a 68-year-old in March

According to court documents, law enforcement arrested Takharius Byrd on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under suspension. According to Toledo police, Byrd and another vehicle were in a collision on March 2 on I-475 westbound between Talmadge Road and Corey Road. 

The collision resulted in the death of the 68-year-old. Byrd did not suffer any injuries during the incident and was released from the scene. A Lucas County grand jury indicted him on Nov. 9.
