TOLEDO, Ohio — An Indiana man was arrested for allegedly traveling to Toledo to have sex with a child.
Peter Clark was arrested on Tuesday by the FBI's Toledo Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
According to court documents, Clark engaged with "numerous" online bulletin messages between Aug. 4, 2023 and April 9, 2024 on social media platforms that are said to be "websites that are said to be frequented by individuals who have a sexual interest in children and incest."
Court documents state that Clark admitted to having a sexual interest in children for about five years, but states he wasn't intending to "go that far" on the day he traveled to Toledo to engage with who he thought was a 7-year-old child. He was instead communicating with an FBI special agent.
Clark is said to have obtained child pornography through links on unnamed social media platforms and that the child porn files would be on his phone, according to court documents. Clark said he "believed the youngest child pornography on his cell phone would be around eight or nine years old."
He also admitted to talking with a man in Italy who was said to be sexually active with his 11 or 12-year-old daughter.
Clark was arraigned in federal court on Wednesday on charges of coercion or enticement, and travel with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
