Several indicted, juveniles arrested on murder charges in Toledo teens Wilder, Pittman case

Several individuals have been charged for alleged roles in the December double homicide.

TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE: On Friday, Jan. 27, Don Eames' bond was set at $2.5 million. His next court appearance will be on Feb. 17 at 9 a.m.

The number of individuals facing murder and kidnapping charges continues to grow in the case of Toledo teens Ke'Marion Wilder, 16, and Kyshawn Pittman, 15, whose bodies were found in the remains of a burned-down vacant house in north Toledo on Dec. 15.

A slew of indictments was handed down this week and additional arrests were made of two teenagers who now join several others charged with murder.

The charges for each of the indictments are listed below:

  • Cruz Garcia: two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of obstructing justice, one count of having weapons while under disability and one count of trafficking in marijuana
  • Corbin Gingrich: two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping
  • Carrissa Eames: two counts of murder, two counts of kidnapping and one count of obstructing justice
  • Don Eames: two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping
  • Brent Kohlhoffer: two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping
  • Charles Walker: two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping
  • Crystal LaForge-Yingling: one count of obstructing justice
  • Diamond Rivera: one count of obstructing justice

Charged and in custody, but not yet indicted, are two juveniles according to Toledo police.

  • Unnamed 17-year-old: two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping
  • Unnamed 14-year-old: two counts of murder, two counts of kidnapping and a pending charge of one count of obstructing justice

WTOL 11 does not name minors who are not being tried as adults. The prosecutor has yet to decide whether or not to file a motion to try the teens as adults, according to a spokesperson with the juvenile justice center.

Gingrich and Carissa Eames initially faced charges of obstructing justice, which were then upgraded to the murder charges they were indicted on.

Garcia was arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping in December.

Don Eames, Kohlhoffer, Walker and the two juveniles were all new suspects named in the same week.

LaForge-Yingling was arrested and charged with obstructing justice on the same day as Gingrich and Carrissa Eames, who lived together in the south Toledo home where Wilder and Pittman were last seen.

As of Thursday, Jan. 5, TPD confirmed Walker and Kohlhoffer are also connected in the Wilder and Pitman case. TPD also confirmed Walker was previously charged and acquitted of killing two other teens in 2015.

On Friday, Jan. 6, TPD said a 17-year-old male was charged with two counts of murder under the specificity of complicity and two counts of kidnapping in relation to the case. A 14-year-old was arrested Friday morning and faces the same charges as well as a pending charge for obstructing justice.

A prosecutor will determine whether or not to file a motion for either or both of the teenage suspects to be tried as adults.

On Friday, Jan. 27, Don Eames' bond was set at $2.5 million. His next court appearance will be on Feb. 17 at 9 a.m.

Wilder and Pittman were last seen on a video call on Dec. 3 in Gingrich and Carrissa's home on Maumee Avenue. Their bodies were found on Dec. 15 in the ash and rubble of a home on Chase Street that burned down on Dec. 5. Their bodies were positively identified on Dec. 16 by the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

Toledo firefighters searched the home as it was burning on Dec. 5, but were forced to pull back before they could finish the search after a firefighter was injured falling through stairs in the home.
