TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police said a teen was shot in north Toledo on Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to a north Toledo apartment complex just before 4 p.m. after reports of shots fired in the area.
According to a Toledo police report, an unknown suspect had open fired outside of the building and struck a 15-year-old in the face. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to live, police said.
At least 10 police cruisers showed up at the Greenbelt Place apartments on the corner of Cherry Street and North Erie Street where they set up a crime scene around one of the apartments.
An occupied vehicle was also struck. No one in the vehicle was injured.
Police say there was no suspect in custody.
The circumstances of what led up to the shooting remain unknown.
