TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended in a crash in west Toledo early Friday morning.

Toledo police said they initiated a traffic stop on Michael Rego, 41, around 2 a.m., but he refused to stop and a pursuit began.

According to TPD, the chase ended at Dorr Street and Reynolds Road after Rego lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a fire hydrant, disabling his car.

No one was injured, but police said damage was caused to the fire hydrant and it began to flood.

Rego was booked into Lucas County Jail on charges of failure to comply with order or signal of police officer and driving under suspension.
