TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested an 18-year-old man on Tuesday accused of setting fire to a Toledo home in October that injured a firefighter attempting to suppress it during the response.
Cassanova King was booked into jail on two aggravated arson charges, one for causing the risk of serious harm to another person.
The injured firefighter was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
According to a court document, King told residents of the home on Oct. 29 that he was going to burn it down. He then filled up a bucket with gasoline from a nearby gas station, poured it out at the property and ignited it.
A Toledo police officer at an unspecified later time witnessed King admitting to setting the fire, the document states.
The residents of the home witnessed him igniting the gas, according to the document. The location of the home is not provided.
