MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman multiple times in Frenchtown Township in Monroe County, according to Michigan State Police.
MSP said troopers were dispatched to a hospital at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday to make contact with the victim, a 59-year-old woman, who was stabbed.
"Upon contacting the critically injured victim, it was determined that this was a domestic violence situation and a suspect was developed," MSP said in a press release.
According to authorities, troopers were able to find and interview the suspect and executed a search warrant on their residence where the incident allegedly occurred.
A 37-year-old man from Monroe was arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail for assault with intent to murder. The victim remains hospitalized in what MSP describes as stable condition.
MSP did not provide the identity of the suspect or the victim.
