MONROE, Mich. — Editor's note - An earlier version of this article mischaracterized the relationship between the victims, as told to WTOL 11 by police. Toledo police later confirmed that the man is not the child's biological father.
A man accused of shooting a man and a 2-year-old boy last week in west Toledo has been arrested on two felonious assault charges, according to court documents.
Ethan Smith, 19, is accused of shooting both victims — the 2-year-old in the head and the 20-year-old man the leg — on Sept. 5 around 10:45 p.m. inside a home on Mackow Drive in the Scott Park neighborhood.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office confirmed to WTOL 11 Monday night that Smith is being held in its jail for Lucas County officials.
An area resident WTOL 11 spoke with the day after the shooting said they saw a dark SUV driving down the street and a person releasing rounds from the sunroof.
The victims' conditions are currently unknown. As of last week, Toledo police told WTOL 11 that the 2-year-old was in critical condition, but was stable.
