TOLEDO, Ohio — A Holland man is in custody after an 86-year-old woman was killed in a hit and run in a parking lot on Sunday afternoon.
According to Toledo Police, Antonio Lockett, 45, was arrested and charged with failing to stop after an accident for allegedly driving a vehicle that struck and killed a woman walking in the parking lot of the Monroe Street Carryout near the 2800 block of Monroe Street. The victim's name is withheld pending family notification.
Lockett is accused of striking another vehicle parked in the parking lot and then fleeing the scene. Police apprehended Lockett in South Toledo and impounded his vehicle. He was booked into the Lucas County jail.
Lockett had just been released from the Lucas County jail on Oct. 18, where he was booked on Oct. 17 on burglary charges.
Authorities say the fatal hit-and-run investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can call Crimestoppers at 419-255-1111.
