TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County grand jury found a man guilty of murder and arson for a woman's death last year in a central Toledo house fire.
Devon Hall, 49, was convicted last week of one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated arson in the death of Ronda Scott, 32.
Hall is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.
Toledo police and Toledo fire crews in August 2023 responded to a fire at a group home residence on Klondike Street and found Scott dead inside. Police and the U.S. Marshals Task Force took Hall into custody later that month in the Old West End neighborhood of Toledo.
An autopsy report from the Lucas County Coroner's Office found Scott's cause of death to be thermal burn injuries and smoke inhalation. The coroner also said the victim sustained blunt force injuries. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
