TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man accused of shooting and killing a woman in east Toledo in October was indicted Wednesday on multiple charges, including aggravated murder.
Deondrae Ballard, 32, was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury on one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of having weapons while under disability and one count of discharge of firearm on or near prohibited premises.
Ballard allegedly shot and killed Elisha Meraz, 32, on Oct. 26 around 1 a.m. near Church Street and Prentice Avenue. Police said Meraz was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound before being taken to the hospital where she later died.
Ballard was arrested on Dec. 3 by officers from the US Marshals Task Force and TPD.
