SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — A 29-year-old Honduran national was indicted by a federal grand jury on three counts of transporting immigrants lacking permanent legal status.
Nestor Alfredo Figueroa-Murillo was pulled over on the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County on Jan. 24 by U.S. Border Patrol agents who discovered he was transporting six people who "had been illegally transported into the United States," according to court documents.
The legal status of the six people in the vehicle was determined after an investigation by the U.S. Border Patrol, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The investigation is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert N. Melching and Frank Spryszak.
