The original story is below:

An 18-year-old has been indicted on charges stemming from the south Toledo shooting death of Dominick Barnett, 29, in July 2022.

Cedrick Belmon Jr., who was 17 years old when he was charged with killing Barnett, was indicted on one count each of murder, felonious assault, discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, having weapons while under disability and tampering with evidence.

Belmon was already in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center on unrelated charges when police charged him with the murder of Barnett, who graduated from Toledo School for the Arts in 2011.

Police found Barnett on July 29 suffering from at least one gunshot wound nearby the Hunter's Ridge Apartments on South Byrne Road and Gibraltar Heights Drive.

His family said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time while on his way home when he was shot.

Barnett was a father and violinist whose life was honored by his family, friends, former classmates, teachers and more outside of TSA in September 2022. They painted rocks that now sit in the school's garden to remember Barnett.
