ANTWERP, Ohio — A man was arrested after stealing a car and crashing it into the front porch of a home following a pursuit in Paulding County.
On Sunday around 8:35 p.m., deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office were in the area of Kroos Drive in the Village of Antwerp searching for a stolen vehicle from Michigan.
A deputy spotted the vehicle and made an attempt to stop it before the driver took off and crashed the vehicle into landscaping, before coming to rest at the front porch of a home on East Canal Street, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspect then left the scene and a search began, but the driver was not located.
On Monday morning, a resident near where the crash happened called 911 to report a male on her porch. The caller said that the man said he was, "cold and lost."
The Antwerp Police Department responded to the home, identified the man as the driver involved in the stolen vehicle and arrested him.
He was identified as Ramon Richard Nadeau, 31, from Keego Harbor, Michigan. He is currently charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and receiving stolen property, both felonies.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Paulding County Municipal Court on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
