Police: Man tortured, killed dog at Hollywood Casino Toledo

Michael Baldwin, 38, of Michigan, was allegedly captured on surveillance video strangling his dog to death at the casino on Wednesday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Michigan man strangled his dog to death at the Hollywood Casino Toledo on Wednesday and left the corpse there, according to documents from the Toledo Police Department.

Michael Baldwin, 38, was arrested on a charge of prohibitions concerning companion animals after the incident was allegedly captured on surveillance video at the casino in east Toledo.

Documents say Baldwin, who is from Westland, outside of Detroit, "while on property at Hollywood Casino Toledo did knowingly and forcefully torment/torture and kill his dog by forceful strangulation" and then "departed property and left the corpse of his dog on property."

Baldwin was indicted on Sept. 30 on one count of prohibitions concerning companion animals.
