OREGON, Ohio — An Oregon man was charged Monday with starving multiple cats and dogs in his home.
Michael Burkey, 24, is accused of depriving an unspecified number of cats and dogs of food and water, causing them to be malnourished, according to court documents.
He pleaded not guilty to an animal cruelty charge.
His home was also "covered in animal feces" and had decaying dead cat inside of it, court documents say.
