Charges dropped against Ottawa Hills football coach accused of domestic violence, assault

The Ottawa Hills High School football coach was placed on paid leave after he was accused of domestic violence in March.

OTTAWA HILLS, Ohio — UPDATE: According to Toledo Municipal Court records, Brandon Carter's case, along with both charges, have been dismissed.

The Ottawa Hills High School football coach was placed on paid leave after he was accused of domestic violence in March. 

According to court documents, Brandon Carter, 43, was charged after he allegedly caused physical harm to the victim on March 6. Toledo police said in the document Carter repeatedly pulled on and dragged the victim by the arm while the victim was holding a child. 

Carter was charged with assault and domestic violence, both misdemeanors. Carter pleaded not guilty on March 15. 

The Ottawa Hills Local School District told WTOL 11 Carter was placed on paid administrative leave pending a resolution from the investigation. 

After the charges in the incident were dismissed on April 11, Ottawa Hills Schools Superintendent Adam Fineske later told WTOL 11 Carter returned to his position on Thursday, April 18.
