Police identify man killed in north Toledo shooting; suspect turned self in

Toledo police say Rashad Ewing, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene Friday afternoon. Fabian Dorrough, 44, later turned himself in and was charged with murder.

TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE: Fabian Dorrough was arraigned in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault. 

His total bond was set at $2.5 million and is scheduled to be back in court for a pretrial hearing on Nov. 21.

One person was killed in a shooting in north Toledo Friday afternoon.

Toledo police in a press release later Friday evening identified the victim as Rashad Ewing, 46, and said the suspect, 44-year-old Fabian Dorrough, turned himself in at the Safety Building following the shooting on Twining Street, near the intersection of East Manhattan Boulevard and Stickney Avenue.

Police responded to the scene in the 3400 block of of Twining around 3:30 p.m. and found Ewing suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, Dorrough was in the driveway talking with a friend and helping to fix a vehicle when Ewing arrived at the location "in a vehicle that he believed Dorrough did not fix correctly."

Detectives said the suspect exchanged words with the victim as he stood behind a truck that was parked in the driveway. According to detectives, Dorrough pulled a gun out and shot twice at Ewing, striking him at least once in the head.

Dorrough, pictured below, was charged with murder and booked into the Lucas County Jail.
