Person hospitalized after being shot in face in south Toledo

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 37-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A person is recovering after a gunshot wound to the face left them hospitalized.

Toledo police crews responded just after midnight to a call about a person shot at a home on Lakeshore Drive in south Toledo. When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

According to a press release, the victim told police the shooting happened at Spencer Street and Prouty Avenue. Officers checked the scene and found several shell casings in the street as well as the victim's car, "which had several bullet holes in it."

The 37-year-old was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

No arrests were made.

An investigation is on going.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call or text Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
